Strayer student success plan
I’m Jenkins and this is my Strayer university student success plan. I’m enrolled at Strayer University to receive a bachelor’s degree in business and administration. I’m a little cool type person, laid back from keep to myself family orientated. And my education is very important to me, so it is a blessing to be enrolled at Strayer University to pursue my career my goals.
Speaking of goals, I have three goals. One of them is to get back in the gym to physically get in shape by summer time; another goal is to complete school and graduated from Strayer University; the third goal is to build my mother’s house.
I guess one of my biggest fears is not finishing school. I’ve seen several people start college but not finish and that’s something that I do not want to do. School is very important to me. When I looked forward to pursuing my bachelor’s in Strayer University, my plan was to overcome my fear, I wrote that down a lot of times. I planned that I could finish my schoolwork on time, so I can stay focused on my family and my girlfriend, they all supported me. So I have done whatever I could to overcome that fear, and I think as long as I stick to it, I should succeed in overcoming that fear.
My second biggest thing is personal, there’s a lot to do with raising my daughter, just as mother raised me. This little girl is my first kid so it’s important for me to make sure I can be a part of her life and I want to be financially stable.
And my other plan to get over this fear of mine is to keep God first, this is my belief and I know if I stay focused like that and keep God first, anything is possible. Family is the first, and second is business, and third is keeping that prioritize like that. I do believe it very much, and I think it will assist me to succeed in overcoming that fear. My study schedule, if our school is concerned, I take Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays between 7 p.m. and 11pm out of my schedule to make sure I complete my homework.
I consider my mother as my hero, she’s a Taurus. Some people say she’s stubborn, but I believe she is focused and determined. When she promises somebody to do something, she does complete it, she’s strong, ambitious and she really inspires me to stay focused to pursue my dreams. So my mother is definitely one of my heroes.
Another hero of mine is Muhammad Ali. During the time of Muhammad, he was the champion and the government was an open enemy to him, but he never let them turn or take his faith, even when they threatened to put him to jail. He still came back and retain the bell, became the champion again, and he was successful. So Muhammad Ali is definitely one of the other heros and helpers of mine in my life. He has helped my girlfriend as well, and she’s also a student in Strayer university, so she knows the importance of taking time out to complete homework. What I have to do is to complete my task, and she is one of my helpers, one of my biggest supporters is my family, they help me out, but I can’t spend much time with them because I have to take out my time to complete school work.
I have an academic plan from the first to the last term, and I believe it is the foundation of success. For the first term, which I’m doing right now, is computer system, at the second term, I focus on science and history, and the third term is Fos and CIS, the forth term is about business and math.
For my career plan, I choose to be an electrical engineering, in the industry field. I did some research and according to the Bureau of Labor, one must have a bachelor degree to become an electrical engineering or environmental engineering, and the salary ranges from 70 to 90 thousand, which is pretty good. For the position, I would like to take, something in the architecture, because it is exciting, knowing that you can have the power to create or enhance something based on your imagination or your thoughts, you come up with a blueprint and you put it together and you manifest it. This is exciting for me, when I reach a certain position and a level of seniority, I would like to be a boss, run and operate my own successful business.
Like I mentioned earlier, one of my goals is to get back into the gym. Now my short term goal is to set a schedule time, to cut back on sweets and I plan on doing this by my birthday next year. In addition to the goals related to school, the third goal is to build my mother’s house.
For me, I used the Student Success Plan to help myself stay focused and stick to the schedule at my first semester at Strayer University. I’m looking forward to using it more in the future to help me complete my studies and be successful.
